Splitting Hairs →
I think the internet has changed my perception of the pro-business/anti-business dichotomy.  By and large the terms “pro/anti-business” are just proxies for a whole bunch of other things.  In that sense it might be a good idea to vigorously disallow people to use this terminology to force them to talk about the actual issues directly.

Audio of the oral argument.  Reading all the descriptions of Justice Souter these last few days, I was surprised to hear him immediately come out swinging.  I suppose I had associated being a loner that hates D.C. with meekness, but there’s obviously more to this guy - he rose to the top of his field through the politically charged process of judicial appointments with views totally...

I saw three pigeons today gathered around a heap of torn bread - the motherload.  When I walked past them they all got scared and flew away.  When I looked back, only one of them had returned.

On Jargon
I remember interviewing at a financial research firm and the dude asked me to brainstorm ways to estimate sales at the store across the street.  I said I would look to see how many people were entering and exiting the store - the interviewer was unimpressed.  I said that I would use traffic as a proxy for order volume - his eyes lit up.
