Being Cyrus (spoiler)
There were aspects of the movie I liked, but on the whole I thought it was both boring and too long, which is odd because the movie was only 80 minutes long. The whole point of the first half was to set you up for the shocker, but once the shocker came, instead of just having everything come clear to you in a quick 2-minute montage, they dragged it on for a while (although I liked the fact that they used this opportunity to show some more of the cop’s character). On top of that, they required a bit too much suspension of reality to make me ultimately sympathize with this dude that ruthlessly killed two people and called Dimple Kapadia all sorts of mean things (slut, whore, brat, etc…). That 360 happened too fast. Now on to the good. I liked the gradual unpeeling of the family, where you see, gradually, that every member of the family is at fault, even the senile grandfather who it turns out used to punch his sons with his ring and push them down the stairs (i think).
