Time to make another movie about the total and headspinning incompetence of the Bush Administration?
I thought yesterday you wrote that no one understands the economy. Now you’re going to blame it on the Bush Administration?
What I said yesterday was that no one at all seems to understand it right now. I don’t know how that is at odds with blaming the Bush Administration for allowing the economy to get to a place where no one understands it - due precisely to the Administration’s own past mismanagement and corruption.
It’s not at odds, but blaming the Bush administration for this just seems like political theater. I certainly don’t know all that much about it, but the situation seems to muddy the traditional Republicans deregulate and Democrats regulate split. In this case regulation was part of the problem, even though the solution might involve more regulation (of a different kind/enforcement?). Point being, there are things to blame the Bush administration for, this might not be one of them, or at the least, its ambiguous and ambiguity is totally taken out of the situation when politicians talk about it.
