The article suggests that the first female president might go a long way for the same-sex marriage movement.  It would have been interesting to see what the Prop-8 vote would have looked like if Hillary Clinton was the nominee.  The idea being that racism and homophobia are independent, so questioning societal norms regarding race does nothing for homophobia, but genderism and homophobia are not.  Although, separate-but-equal doesn’t sound too far off.
