It might be that what makes art powerful is precisely that it blurs the line between reality and art. You take a piece of reality and show what it looks like when you take it to its logical extreme. If you can’t tell whether it’s art or reality, that probably means you’re on to something. If you force my hand I’ll be forced to draw. That means a lot more if I’ve got a gun in my pocket.
