Roger Federer crying after lose australia open 2009 against Rafael Nadal - 1/2/2009 (via fahod22)
The guys on PTI dissed Federer for crying while giving his runner-up speech. I guess they thought he was just really bummed from losing; others have suggested that he might just be really sad because he didn’t tie Pete Sampras’s record. That all seems a bit ridiculous to me. I mean, how can you suggest that a guy isn’t gutsy when he played a good match and is considered one of the greatest players of all time? When he had a false start at the beginning of his speech, the crowd went nuts. It wasn’t until then that the waterworks started. I think I’ve felt something similar, ya know, when someone expresses support for you at some meaningful moment, and so you want to show them how you feel so they can share in it with you?
